This winter River started calling mittens mee-mees. He usually points at his hands while saying "mee-mees, mee-mees" Super cute, and pointing at his hands helped me understand what he meant the first couple times he said this.
As usually happens, this has evolved a bit. River has decided that socks on his hands are just as good as actual mittens or gloves, with the added benefit that he can put them on his hands himself.
The other day I thought he'd left a pair of socks outside after wearing them out on his hands.
I told him "Go find your mee-mees. Bring them inside."
He hung his head to the side and said "aww."
He wanted to play instead of look for errant socks. The groan and hanging head was cute, if a bit out of character and more to be expected in a child a few years older. He's growing up too fast!
