Weekly Mileage #100 and the Blue and Gold Banquet

I had headaches all week and a migraine on Thursday. My headache was lesser today, but still there. I'm not sure if it's part of the detoxing process I'm still going through, but it's at least partly related to the stiff neck I have when I wake up every morning.

Weekly Mileage #99 and Running Again!

I forgot to mention last week that Sunshine gave her first talk in Sacrament meeting last Sunday. She'd already used up her free pass about 6 months earlier (an arrangement we made with the bishopric, with the understanding that she'd say yes the next time they asked her to give a talk), and despite her apprehensions about getting up in front of people (something she really, really dislikes), she did it.

Weekly Mileage #98 and the Propane Burner

Monday's hike was cold but clear and sunny

We had some cold weather when the polar vortex went through, but we definitely didn't get the brunt of it. However, within a few days the weather had warmed up and it was in the mid-70s on Tuesday! By the weekend it was back below freezing at night and in the 30s and 40s during the day, but wow, such crazy weather.

January Mileage

January was a bit of a slow month mileage wise, but I've been busy with work and gathering tax info, so it is what it is. Last year this time I was knocked down hard by influenza A, followed by strep, followed by a nasty cold. And that was after being sick from the middle of November until Christmas. So I'm feeling pretty good about myself right now. A measly cold is nothing compared to how sick I was last year.

I've started going for a hike on Mondays after dropping the boys at preschool and Sunshine at co-op. I've got enough time to do about 2 miles and then run some errands or spend some time on the laptop before picking everyone up. The weather has cooperated pretty well on Mondays, which hasn't been the case on Thursdays (our usual hiking day) lately. This week's problem? Frigid temps and wind. We weren't as cold as some parts of the country, but it was still very cold. Add in the wind, and I didn't want to take the kiddos out in that.
