Sunday Funny

Jeremy and Ocean were listening to the song "Dirty Little Secret."

Ocean says to Jeremy: "I've got a dirty little secret."

Jeremy, very hesitantly, since this is Ocean and you never know what he'll say: "Oh? What's your dirty little secret?"

Ocean comes closer, and whispers: "Pigs. Pigs are dirty. Shh, don't tell anyone. It's my secret!"

There are no words. 🤣🤣🤣

Sunday Funny

Awhile ago I mentioned Max's paw, as she reaches to get something. It's actually really hard to photograph, but this gives a little better idea of what I was talking about.

Sunday Funny

Max is more than a bit neurotic about things. The pictures here show just some of the things that she does when she wants attention. If you look at the photo above, Max is guiding my hand with her mouth to where she wants to be rubbed. (she's not biting, just hanging onto my hand so she can direct it)

Max likes to use us as chew toy supports if we sit in one spot for too long.

She can be very insistent when she wants you to play with her. In the photo below, I was trying to put my shoes on and she kept shoving the yellow bone on my leg. It made it really difficult to get my shoes on and tied.

Then when you do play with her, she'll hang onto your arm while she tries to get the toy back.

Sunday Funny

The boys got these dino tracks from their grandparents for Christmas. But since our kids have vivid imaginations, they didn't just use them as roads for vehicles. They also found that they made great headgear and neckwear.

Sunday Funny

The other night I was putting the boys to bed (ie, laying on Ocean's bed so he'll calm down and go to sleep). Ocean finally went to sleep, so I looked over to see if River was asleep. What I saw was the picture above: a foot and a hand poking out of a mound of blankets.

I changed positions to get a better view because I couldn't figure out what was going on.

He was all curled up in a blanket cave. Maybe his <dirty> foot was a periscope? and his hand was keeping it steady?

Sunday Funny

Max enjoys cushy seating- notice that she's knocked the softer back cushion forward and is laying on that, rather than the harder seat cushion.

But then we have this instance, where she's laying on River's banjo case. At least the case is a soft case instead of a hard case.

Sunday Funny

It's been awhile since I posted a pic of River sleeping, but this one needed documenting. Notice the quilt and blanket and pillows bunched up at the head of the bed, far from where River is curled up, trying to keep warm.

And doesn't that look like an uncomfortable position?

Sunday Funny

On Thanksgiving, I had the kiddos push cloves into oranges to make pomanders. Ocean needed help, but River and Sunshine did fine.

Unfortunately, the boys didn't quite understand the project. They thought they got to eat the oranges after they finished, instead of letting them sit out and dry. It took a day or two to convince Ocean that it was no longer edible. I'm pretty sure they feel that this project was a waste of good oranges :)

I wanted some pictures of them with their oranges (though the one of Sunshine seems to have disappeared), and this is what River gave me, in the order they were taken.

Sunday Funny

Max being funny. Leaning over the edge of the couch and resting on the table behind it, feet on the couch. But if you look closer in the picture above, her feet are crossed!

Sunday Funny

Went in to check on the boys and found this. Ocean is nearly off the bed, but his baby doll is safely snuggled in :)

Sunday Funny

We have no idea how she sleeps like this, but she does it all the time. Sometimes her head is hanging even further down off the chair.

And then there's this gem:

Sunday Funny

We all love Max's paws.

Especially the proprietary paw (or paws, as in the first picture right below).

The one I don't have a picture of? Her standing on her hind legs, both front paws on the counter, one stretched out, trying to reach something just out of her reach. We call it "the paw" (very original, yes, but we all know what we're talking about, so that's all that matters). Anytime she's reaching for something on the counter: "the paw, the paw!"

Sunday Funny

I caught this picture of River, but didn't realize what I was seeing till I walked around and saw this view:

He's got some good balance (and good problem solving skills)!

Sunday Funny

When we were up at Shenandoah cleaning the RV tanks, Ocean and I were walking around with Max. We found these seed pods and I explained that the fluff helps the seeds float to new places to grow.

Ocean: "You know everything, Mommy!"

Then we found these piles of metal tubes and I told him they were the legs of picnic tables and he repeated himself, "Wow, you know everything!"

Well, I'll take it as long as he thinks so, since I know that won't last for long.

Sunday Funny

A couple months ago during church at home we were talking about doing what Heavenly Father wants. As such things do with small children, there were some twists and turns to the discussion and we ended up resolving that we don't hit each other, we give hugs instead.  (Ocean especially has a hard time not hitting his brother)

The next day, Ocean hit River and I sent him to give River a hug.

Ocean to River (clearly concerned River would push him away): "Remember what we talked about at church yesterday? We hug people when we hit them."

Me: "No, we hug them instead of hitting them!"

Something got a little lost in translation there....

Sunday Funny

Ocean, all dressed up for church at home: "Hey, do I look really handsome?"

Me: "Yes, you do."

Ocean: "And really cute?"

Me: "And really cute :)"

A few minutes later, he saw his sister and asked her if he looked really handsome and cute :)
