I recently bought a bag of cocktail cucumbers (cukes about the length of your index finger). Ocean saw them in the cart and called them baby pickles.
I said "No, they're cucumbers, but we can turn them into pickles."
So then he started calling them pickle seeds.
I repeated "No, they're just cucumbers and you can turn them into pickles."
He looked at me in confusion.
"Like how grapes become raisins."
That made a little more sense to him. Clearly we need to make a batch of pickles so he can see the process.
