May was my highest mileage month so far this year, though it didn't feel like it- I was surprised when I added up all my miles. Just like in April, I did not run a race. Our schedule has just been too crazy and I wasn't feeling it. I've already run my June 5k, so at least I broke that no-race streak. With a half marathon coming up in September, I'm no longer allowed to slack off on my workouts or my races.
I spent more time than I'd like in May still fighting illness after illness, which made it too easy to skip the day's workout and work on one of my businesses instead. Re-committing to my workout schedule should break me of that less-than-helpful-for-my-fitness-level habit.
We were prepared to go on more hikes than we did, but the thunderstorms and rain made it difficult. Lightning strikes and flooded trails just don't do it for me, for some reason.
