We celebrated by braving the triple digit heat and going to a parade. Small town parades are so fun!
There was something for everyone:
Local beauty queens and princesses, politicians, old cars, the VFW, military vehicles, scout troops, church floats, lots of fire trucks (from 3 towns!), tractors, local businesses (including a paint ball team/company/not sure what they were exactly), and even a juggling unicyclist. No horses, though. I think it was too hot for them.
Did you get to see a parade on the 4th?
I had to work so no parades for me this year, but that night I was at the Rio Tinto stadium for the REAL Soccer game and the Thunderbirds flew overhead on their way to Provo and we had the AWESOMEST fireworks after the game!
ReplyDeleteyes - but it was a big town parade. =( They will never compete with a small local parade where you know lots of people and the floats throw candy for the 2 or 3 blocks of the parade route. Big parades just make me feel lonely ...
