Philadelphia Trip Part 2: Temple Open House


It rained overnight and was still overcast when we arrived for our 9 am tour. One of the guides mentioned that this temple incorporates a lot of local historical architecture, and it was easy to see those influences since we'd spent time in Independence Hall just the day before.



The columns, the shape of the trim around the interior doors and windows, the swooping metal arms of the chandeliers, and the wood planked floors were very reminiscent of what we saw at Independence Hall. It was quite interesting to see how they brought those details in, and it worked quite well (of course!).

I told Sunshine and River to touch the temple, and this was the result:


I love how River took me so literally and spread out both arms :)

And Ocean had to get in on the action as well:
